Three Puffs is a captivating Iranian film directed and written by Saman Salour, marking his sixth directorial venture in the Iranian cinema. Salour, who initiated his artistic journey in 2003 with the film “Residents of the Land of Silence,” now presents his latest cinematic creation in Three Puffs. This film, set in the backdrop of Tehran’s southern suburbs, showcases the struggle and resilience of a young couple, Nasim and Mojtaba.

Nasim (played by Parinaz Izadyar) spends her days at home, making dolls and pickles, while Mojtaba (played by Mohsen Tanabandeh) sells disposable dishes to make ends meet. Their lives take an unexpected turn when Mojtaba is involved in a life-changing accident, leaving Nasim to shoulder the burden of their expenses. As the couple faces a series of challenges, secrets from Mojtaba’s past begin to unravel, and Nasim makes a fateful decision that will change their lives forever.

The film features an ensemble cast, including Parinaz Izadyar, Mohsen Tanabandeh, Samira Hasanpour, Matin Sotoudeh, Maryam Bobani, Yadalallah Shadmani, Mahmoud Nazaralian, Alireza Mehran, and Mohammad Ashkanfar, all delivering exceptional performances.

Three Puffs garnered critical acclaim and earned nominations at the 38th Fajr Film Festival in various categories, including Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Cinematography, and Best Makeup. While it didn’t secure any awards at the festival, it received widespread recognition for its compelling storytelling and exceptional performances.

Originally slated for release in cinemas in early 1400, the film’s launch was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in its postponement. The production team chose to wait for the reopening of theaters rather than opting for online distribution, and after three years since obtaining the screening license, Three Puffs finally received the green light for its theatrical release in late 1401.

Join Nasim and Mojtaba on their tumultuous journey, where love and resilience face off against life’s unexpected challenges in this heartwarming and thought-provoking film. Three Puffs is now screening in theaters nationwide, offering a cinematic experience that transcends boundaries and captures the essence of human endurance and hope.
